Haas topples Wimbledon fourth seed Djokovic

Germany's Tommy Haas reached his first Wimbledon semi-final at the age of 31 on Wednesday, outclassing a tentative Novak Djokovic 7-5, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. The Serbian fourth seed, looking nervous from the start and rarely taking the initiative, managed to salvage one set but looked a pale shadow of the scintillating player who won last year's Australian Open. The pressure of expectation now seems to weigh heavy on the 22-year-old's shoulders. His self-belief at a low ebb, Djokovic showed little aggression against a confident Haas.

Temperature increased due to Global Warming

Due to various reasons like global warming the temperature of the world has been increased. The global warming is caused by the green house effect. The emissions from the industries and vehicles increase the amount of green house gases present in the atmosphere which in turn increase the global temperature. Due to increase in temperature, the ice bergs are melted thereby sea level is increased. Even though the government organizations and research institutions are suggesting many alternatives to decrease the emission of green house gases but the global warming is gradually increased. May be due to this reason temperature is increased in Arizona nearly as 80 ºF. Even though the temperature is high many people like to stay in Arizona. Hence in Arizona relocation is increased. And many real state companies are promoting the new home developments in Arizona.

Paraguay's Santa Cruz signs for Man City

Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz has been reunited with manager Mark Hughes after joining Manchester City from Blackburn. Santa Cruz signed a contract with Man City on Monday in a deal that is reportedly worth 18 million pounds ($30 million). "It's been close to happening for a while," Santa Cruz said on the club's Twitter feed. "Now I can just focus on football and concentrate on doing my best for the club." Hughes brought Santa Cruz to England two years ago from Bayern Munich and the forward scored 23 goals in 43 games in his debut season at Ewood Park. Hughes had failed with several bids to sign Santa Cruz in the past year since he left Blackburn to coach Man City. Santa Cruz, who had three years remaining on the new Blackburn deal he signed last August, is City's second offseason signing after England midfielder Gareth Barry joined from Aston Villa earlier this month.

Ponting is 'crap' as captain: Thomson

Ricky Ponting is "crap" as captain, never deserved to get the job and has not improved a bit in the five years at the helm, said pace legend Jeff Thomson in a scathing attack on the Australian skipper just days ahead of the Ashes. "I thought Ricky was crap when he was first captain in 2004 and nothing much has improved since then," said the 58-year-old, 100 of whose 200 Test wickets have come against Ashes rivals England. "I'm not the only one who thinks that. I've always bagged him and everyone at home thinks he's s**** at the captaincy. He's a great player but captaincy is a totally different thing," he said at a charity dinner here. Thomson said he couldn't believe when Ponting was picked as captain in 2004. "I couldn't believe it when he'd been picked as captain. There was no-one else to pick but Ponting still had no experience.'' "He'd only captained one side ever before. How did he get to lead Australia with that sort of experience? He was in a side that had very good players and now he's got a side that has average players. He's still left wanting," Thomson said. Thomson said Ponting's on-field mannerisms are not of a leader and he is the first to panic when the team is in trouble.
